We are delighted to be designing a new private house in Gudalur, Theni, India. Gudalur is located in the state of Tamil Nadu, in one of the most fertile valley basins in southern India, surrounded by lush mountains and farm land.

Our proposals are for a 4 bedroom property that is set within a walled courtyard in the centre of the town. A series of internal light-wells will allow light to enter the house which is entirely concealed from the street.

The courtyards provide a green backdrop to the living spaces and downstairs bedroom and a set of private, tranquil spaces in an otherwise densely populated urban area. A generous shaded terrace is provided on the first floor with views north towards the mountains.

Miller Kendrick have completed the build of their competition winning entry for a of ‘pop-up hotel’ cabin located at Castell y Bere, Wales. The cabin, known as ‘Arthur’s Cave’, was one of eight winning entries for Epic Retreats – a project part funded by the Welsh Government’s Tourism Product Innovation Fund. The cabin will be featured as part of Channel 4’s ‘Cabins in the Wild with Dick Strawbridge’ documentary series, with the first of four episodes due to air on Sunday 21st May.

The cabin will feature as part of a 4-part series covering the construction of eight cabins for a Visit Wales design competition, and is due to be aired late May/early June.

The build is due to take three and a half weeks to complete, before being transported to it’s first site in Wales at the start of May.
